As a parent, you pass more than just your genes to your children. Children start adapting to your habits from an early age, both good and bad. Therefore, it is important that you set an example for your youth by following a disciplined routine and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. When healthy habits are instilled early in one's life, it becomes part of a lifestyle routine and goes a long way in ensuring a happy, healthy, and disease-free life. Here are some habits that I have developed in my children.

Don't skip breakfast.

"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day," is a saying I've personally lived. This not only helps children to kickstart their day with good energy levels but also teaches them to stick to regular meal times and teaches them the importance of creating routines. It is important to teach children the value of being armed with good discipline as it always gives a better approach to life.

Even after the body's biological clock helps to keep chronic diseases at bay and ensure that your children avoid late nights and dull mornings. Having a balanced and nutritious breakfast helps a lot in promoting an overall healthy lifestyle.

Got off the couch

With epidemic-induced lockdowns now tying children to their screens, it is extremely important for them to get adequate exercise. Children today are not playing outside as they used to; FIFA and Angry Birds and Call of Duty have become the norm as opposed to hiding and exploring, kicking, and catching and cooking. It is important to get your children out the door and ensure that they are exercising roughly for at least an hour each day. Being physically active from an early age ensures that your children have improved academic scores and are actively engaged in sports.

Endorphins are released when you exercise, which helps fight academic stress and emotional distress. Playing a game also teaches children how to deal with the heights and lows of life from an early age, and it also helps in enhancing their social skills.

Today's tomorrow; tomorrow's will be the leader.

Read 10 minutes before your child goes to bed. Let them choose what they like to read. Strong reading skills are essential for building a well-informed vocabulary. Read a fun activity so that they see it as a treatment and not a boring chore. The habit of reading gives high returns in the long run because books will always help children to learn and add to their knowledge.

Family time is important.

Creating a bond with your child and making them comfortable with believing in you is one of the most rewarding experiences. Handing dinner as a family meal is an easy way to go about this. This makes it easy to ensure that everyone is eating nutritious food together. You can use dinner as an opportunity to interact with your children about their day; Discuss films, literature, politics, or whatever that excites you and them.

This is a point of interest in their interests, even when they are something you have never thought of! And finally, being open-minded and with an understanding of changing times ensures that they are comfortable reaching out to you when they need help.

Sleep well

There is nothing better for your children's routine than eight hours of uninterrupted sleep. Sleeping patterns can cause a decrease in the release of growth hormone, therefore, affecting the growth of bones and other cells and tissue. It also negatively affects immune levels, leading to amnesia and lack of concentration. Sleeping early and developing a daily routine that is not interrupted on weekends will only do your child well in the long run.

Cleanliness is two-thirds of health.

Children should be taught the importance of basic hygiene from a young age. Practices such as brushing twice a day, brushing your teeth, washing your hands before and after meals are simple and effective routines to keep diseases away. It is important that we teach our young children the importance of being clean and well-groomed. By raising these habits from childhood, children will have healthy teeth, good skin, and good gut health!

No bad feelings

Raising emotionally healthy children ensures that they do not look for food for comfort and prevent them from resorting to alcohol and drugs in their later years. Teach them to embrace all kinds of emotions because they possess their feelings. Allow them to release feelings like anger and sadness in a healthy way at an early age. Teach children the value of habits like magazines and meditation; This helped him develop a good sense of decision making. Talking to them about anger management techniques can help them understand when to walk away from frightening situations.

Allow them to cry and talk about their feelings because it helps teenagers cope with their grief. Showing emotion should always be encouraged and not repressed.
