What is sadness and how to get relief from it?

What is sadness?     

Sadness is a mental emotion of a human being. When a human desire is no fulfilled, then there is a disappointment in the mind of the human being, the person's heart becomes frustrated. This despair or frustration is called sadness. 

According to Psychology, sadness is emotional pain.

According to Neuroscience, sadness is a mental state.

 

Causes of sadness

1. Rejection by a friend or lover.

2. Sickness or death of a loved one. 

3. Endings and goodbyes.

4. The loss of some aspect of identity ( e.g. , during times of transition at home, work, life, stages ).

5. Being disappointed by an unexpected outcome ( e.g. , not receiving a raise at work when you expected ).

 

Feeling sadness

Sadness can be felt by the following emotions, such as : 

1. Anger ( e.g. , having a loved one abandon you ).

2. Fear ( e.g. , that we will not be able to cope or move on with life ).

3. Joy ( e.g. , reminiscing about time spent with the last person or thingpleasure from the comfort provided by others ).

 

Some tips to relieve sadness 

You can overcome the sadness by using the following tips - 

1. Lack of nutritious diet is also a cause for sadness. The effect of our food not only on our physical health but also on mental health, so always eat nutritious food. Use plenty of green vegetables and fruits in your diet. 

2. If you are troubled by a problem, instead of being depressed, solve that problem with caution and alertness.

3. Don't think negatively because negative thoughts can make you even more depressed, so always adopt a positive attitude.

4. People who like to be alone have a disease of sadness, so give up a lonely life. Explain your social circle. Make good friends. Share your happiness and sorrows with your friends. Take advice from them if you encounter any problem.

5. Consuming more medicine can also cause depression, so do not take more medicine.

6. Do asanas or exercises. Asans and exercises improve the functions of the body's blood vessels, heart, stomach and muscles. Apart from this, our body also gets more and more oxygen.

7. Walk for 20-30 minutes in the morning. Walking in the morning improves self-esteem, reduces stress and anxiety, improves mood, brings energy to the body.

8. Give time to the family as well. Share your happiness and sorrows with your family. Take advice from them in case of any problem. 

9. When you feel sad, focus your attention on television or any other entertaining work. This will divert attention and make you think less about the cause of sadness.

10. Keep yourself busy. Busyness will drive away your sadness. It is not necessary to be busy, doing work to stay busy. Do any easy task. Like, write letters, write diary, watch TV, read newspaper, go for walk so that you do not get stressed.

11. Walk in the fresh air. 

12. Try to read good books. Books take us to a different world.

13. Try to laugh.

14. Watch comedy movies and comedy shows.

15. Play a game of your choice for some for some in the evening.

 

Recognizing sadness

1. Facial expression of sadness 

 

One very and reliable sign of sadness is the angling - up of the inner corners of the eyebrows. Few people are able to manipulate these muscles voluntarily, making it especially difficult to fake ( unlike some other facial movement ).

 

2. Vocal expression of sadness 

 

Depending on the type and identify of sadness, someone voice can either become lower in pitch and softer in volume, or higher in pitch and louder in volume ( e.g. , waling).

 

3. Senations of sadness 

 

common sensation include tightness of the chest, heaviness of the limbs, stinging in the throat, and / or watery eyes.

 

4 posture of sadness 

 

there is often a loss of muscle tone, a lowered or hunched posture, and looking away and / or downwards.
