UPSC will now provide jobs in Indian Railways

If you too are studying according to getting a job in Indian Railways, then this news is special for you. Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav has said that all the new recruitments in Railways will be under five specializations through UPSC Civil Services Examination.

The Union Cabinet this week merged 8 railway services to make them the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS). VK Yadav said that like other candidates of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the aspirants for the job in the railway will have to take preliminary examination first. They can then choose IRMS under five specializations.

Out of these five specializations, four under engineering (civil, mechanical, telecom and electrical) and one can be non-technical. Non-technical will have accounts, personal and traffic sector appointments. Yadav said, "A detailed outline will be prepared for this, but for the time being, the job seekers will take the preliminary examination and then choose their choice. They will also be given the option to appear in the IRMS exam." Railway Board Chairman Yadav said, "We are going to send our demand letter clarifying our recruitment under five specializations. Four of them are of engineering and one is non-engineering. People with arts faculty in the non-engineering specialization can get an appointment.". This will include accounts, traffic, and personal services. All will be promoted at the same time. " Railway officials will be recruited from the year 2021, said that the first batch will be recruited in the year 2021, while a new 5-member board with merged officers will come into existence next year. He said that the Chairman of the Railway Board will also be the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Railways.

The Chairman of the Railway Board will only be an officer of the Indian Railway Service, he will not come from any other service. Yadav said, "Only the officers of the Indian Railway Service with 35 years of experience will be appointed as president / CEO." Yadav is scheduled to retire at the end of this month. He also said that the decision to merge the services has been taken so that the officers keep the railways before their services. In the current system of railways, his service to officers became more important than the railways.
