9 tips for writing blog posts

In this post, I want to give you 9 tips for writing blog posts.

Everyone has a different situation at work, family, and leisure, and sometimes you don’t want to find time to write blog posts. Take the best tips for yourself from this list to help you plan your blog posts in up to 5 minutes.

1 | Write down your ideas - always

The idea of posting can come to mind anywhere, anytime. Carry the booklet with you in the bag or keep it open on the kitchen table so you can write down ideas and thoughts as soon as they pop into your mind. When it’s time to write, choose one idea, and work on it.

Another option is to list posting ideas in your cell phone notes. The important thing is that the ideas can be found in the same place and not on ten different patches around the home.

2 | Allow enough time for writing

In fact, I implemented this method for some time. I will write several blog posts in one day. Some remain in draft mode, some I finish and time. This posting had already started in 2018! In fact, this text was already published in 2017 as Blogger’s Weekly Letter. Now I wanted to edit the official blog post about it.

Personally, I typically write blog posts on Saturday mornings. It has become a routine. I started the habit while the kids were still in elementary school. On Saturdays, they slept well into the afternoon, so I had many hours in the morning to write. Usually, I have time to write 3 blog posts, but today (18.4.2020), this is already the fourth. I get the writings completed faster as I work on the draft posts.

3 | Read other people's blogs and their headlines

Of course, others ’texts may not be copied, but sometimes posting from another blogger may become an idea or a personal experience to remember. In this case, you can write your own story on the topic and thank the original blogger at the end of the post by linking to his blog. Personal experiences are usually quick to write about.

4 | Think about different questions

What blogging questions are you repeatedly asked? It would help if you kept asking yourself questions all the time. I have questions from readers both in a text file, in questionnaires, and Facebook communities.

So I have now started working with Hanna on these issues and form blog posts about them. If one is thinking about a question, there are certainly others who are considering the same thing.

5 | Make a sketch

Once you have found the idea, sketch the text. The French lines and a few sentences from the text are enough to get you started. Once you know the posting frames, the ending is easier to write. The posting structure also helps to outline the textual content.

You can really make more sketches in a day. There are currently about 80 draft blog posts on my blog. Some are still from 2018 and 2019.

6 | Write

Once your pen (or fingers) are up and running, keep typing. Put good music playing in the background and let it burn! Try to build a routine that is right for you to write. From the day, choose the time when you are at its most refreshing.

Ask parents or grandparents to take care of the children or a spouse to do something with the children. Building a routine takes time and patience from every family member, but when you hold on to your right to write for a few hours, others will learn and give you the peace of writing.

7 | Write briefly

You don’t always have to write 3,000-word blog posts. Sometimes a list of tips of 500 words is enough. Another good idea is to split one long blog post into a series. In this case, for example, you can get 3-4 shorter texts from posting 3,000 words.

You can schedule these texts in advance so that one blog post appears once a week. This is what I do all the time. The goal is for me to have all of my Blog Posts for the year written and scheduled.

8 | Make the most of blog posts

Once you have written a blog post, it can be utilized in many different ways. You can make it inspiring phrases into something or tips on Instagram. You can make a short Facebook Live or a slightly longer Youtube video.

You can renew and update your post, get new ideas, or turn posts into an e-book. If you can’t figure out where to write, browse the categories, select five blog posts, and write a summary of them. Think again about why you wrote on those very topics. Why should a reader get to know them?

In the summer of 2019, I was drained and exhausted. I wrote about it later in this annual review. But in the summer of 2019, I didn’t publish any “new” blog posts. I took advantage of existing blog posts by summarizing them, like this one.

9 | Getting started is always the hardest part

Sometimes you feel like you can’t write. Then decide that you are going to write one sentence. Once you’ve written it, continue if you’re excited and do something else if you’re not excited. A single sentence can generate a thousand new ideas, and soon you will find that you have written a lot. If the sentence is difficult, you can also make a random list of words. The key is to take a pen in your hand or enter letters on the screen.

Sometimes you can start writing a blog post in the middle, as one well-known author recommended.
