India is the land of heroes and brave. These brave in the recent era cannot be better described than the Supercop IPS  officers serving the masses. They have contributed to India's development story in various ways like conducting free and fair elections, safety, the security of masses, Traffic regulators. Their stories of bravery must be told to the masses.

 

Julio Ribeiro

He is an IPS officer of the 1953 batch who held key positioning during the Punjab insurgency period in the 1980s. He led the Punjab police against the Sikh militants. He served as DGP of CISF and then further as DGP of Gujrat police. Two assassination attempts were made on him. One in 1986 in Punjab by Khalistani Commando Force and then later in 1991 in Bucharest where he was serving as the Indian Ambassador to the state again by the Sikh militants. He survived both the attacks standing tall and strong. He has also served as the Government advisor to the Kashmir issue. Now, retired he serves as the non-executive director of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals. The ups and downs of his life can be known from his biography ' Bullet for bullet- My life as a Police officer'.

 

Dr. Ajay Kumar

He was one of India's earliest Doctor turned IPS officers of the 1986 batch. In his short tenure in service, he rose to fame among the masses of Bihar and Jharkhand state. He joined service as Superintendent of Police, Patna. Later on the request of TATA steel M.D J.J Irani he was sent to Jamshedpur as S.P. The crime rate in Jamshedpur was soaring at its peak at that time. In just two years 1994-1996, he terminated all the local goons and Mafias of the district. Such was his fear among the goons that they used to disguise as Bridegrooms in order to escape from the city. He was termed as 'Encounter Specialist' by the media. Later he resigned in1996 and joined TATA steel as an executive manager. In 2011 he contested for election from Jamshedpur seat and won the seat with record votes. He is also the youngest recipient of the prestigious President medal award.

 

Roopa Moudgil

She was a Karnataka cadre  2006 batch IPS officer. The first lady Kannadiga IPS officer. She became the hot topic of news when posted as DIG prisons in 2017, she exposed corruption in Bangalore prisons where special privileges were given to AIADMK leader Sasikala. A further special inquiry committee was made based on her reports and a case was registered by Anti-corruption Bureau. Going against the powerful authorities was not easy for her as she risked her job and life too for this but she stood tall and strong against all these obstacles. She stands out as a speaker of TEDx talks and has a large audience and also has a large number of views on her talks.

 

Ajit Doval

Ajit Doval is an IPS officer of Kerala cadre, 1968 batch who became an Indian household name under the NDA government. During his early years, he played an important role in anti-surgency operations in North-East states and in the Punjab region. He won over 6 of Laldenga's commanders of Mizo National Front. He was the key person in the merger of Sikkim state with India. He has also spent 7 yrs of his life in Pakistan as a spy and is said to have nearly had his hand on Dawood Ibrahim. He also holds the unique experience of termination of  15 hijackings between 1971-1999. Played an important role in 'Operation Black thunder' of Golden temple in 1988. While his role as National Security Advisor in June 2014, he headed the operation to evacuate 46 nurses from Iraq. Also, credit for his role in the September 2016 Indian surgical strike in Pakistan.

 

Sanjukta Parashar

An IPS officer of 2006 batch, Assam cadre. She turned out to be a nightmare for Bodo militants in the Assam region. She was first posted as the Assistant Commandant of Makum in 2008. She was entrusted with the charge of controlling the clashes of Bodo and Illegal Bangladeshi militants. She showcased her strength and capability when she took down 16 militants, and arresting over 64 peoples, and seizing tons of arms and ammunition in just 15 months. She's truly known as the 'Iron lady of Assam'.

 

Shivdeep Waman Lande

Shivdeep Lande is an IPS officer from the 2006 batch. He had quite a spectacular and 'Dabangg' role during his stay as S.P in various districts of Bihar state such as in Munger, Purnia, Araria, where he curbed the medicine mafias, the sand mafias, illegal wine shops, strengthened the traffic laws. He also became the hero among the woman masses of the state due to his strict action against the eve-teasers. It was said during his term every girl in the district use to have his phone number on their mobile.
