It's awful to get cut off from our everyday life. But sometimes it is necessary as well as life-saving to be under lock and key. So if you are in a lockdown we have five movie suggestions that you can enjoy and we believe your confinement will make these movies more enjoyable.
Housebound
A violent young woman and felon Kylie is sentenced to nine months of house arrest at her family home in a small town on New Zealand after an attempted robbery, forcing her to move in with her stepfather and eccentric mother, who believes the house is haunted. Kylie dismisses her mother's superstitious believes at first but soon things change when she experiences the paranormal herself. Housebound is a part murder mystery and part ghost story. It has some comedic elements that make a dark story light-hearted and enjoyable.
Hush
Hush is a fast-paced slasher film about a deaf author who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window. It may sound like another cliché with a twist but it is much more than that. It's a wonderfully made film with a comparatively low budget and makes you wonder what will you do if you were in that situation throughout the whole time.
Color Out of Space
Color Out of Space is based on the work of H. P. Lovecraft. So get ready for some cosmic horror. When a meteorite lands in the front yard of a family farm, Nathan Gardner (Played by Nicholas Cage) and his family find themselves cut off from outside world battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism that infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare. If you are a Lovecraft fan, this movie is a treat. This movie captures the feeling of the cosmic dread almost perfectly.
Funny Games
Funny Games is a 2007 remake 1997 German film of the same name and is directed by Michael Haneke, who is a master of making you feel claustrophobic. If you are confined with your family in a remote location this movie will freak you out. It is basically a home invasion movie with some sci-fi elements and some twist. It is very much different from other home invasion movies. If you don't anything about this movie go in as blind as possible. Don't even watch the trailer Naomi Watts, Tim Roth, Michael Pitt, and Brady Corbet star in the main roles and we promise you will enjoy it.
The Descent
If you are missing the outside world too much this movie will remind you how terrifying the world can be, This film follows a group of women who goes to explore a cave system after one of them experience a terrible personal tragedy in hope of finding some relief but they end up in a struggle to survive against some humanoid creatures inside and from each secret of the past. The tight and claustrophobic atmosphere will keep you at the edge of your seat (P.S. There is a part two, which you should check out if you like the first one)
