Top 3 signings of Kerala Blasters FC ahead of season 2020-21

Kerala Blasters FC is a football giant from south India, who has fan following across the globe. Apart from two finals, they were at bottom of the table for many years; changing Coaches and players after every season and uncontrolled money spending on the transfer market were the reason for the poor performance.

Ahead of the 2020-21 season club has appointed Karolis skinks, former SK Olduvai sporting director, as their sporting director, influential in bringing financial stability and signing quality players for less price.

He has let star defender Sandesh Jingshan and main striker Bartholomew obeche to leave the club. These decisions were shocking for the fans, but he has managed to build a better squad with their new Spanish coach, the kibun vicuna. These are some of the players who will be influential for them in this season:

 

1. Garry Hooper

Former Celtic, Norwich City, Sheffield Wednesday, wellington Pheonix 32-year-old English striker is the blaster's squad's main player. He last played for wellington Pheonix in A league and scored 8 goals from 21 appearances. He started his professional career at the Tottenham hotspur academy. He moved to Grace's athletic youth team; from grace, he again moved to Southend united FC from there. He was loaned to Herford, united, and Scunthorpe united.

He scored 44 goals from two seasons, this performance made Scottish giants Celtic buy him, but he could not perform in his first season at Celtic. Still, he came back with a majestic performance and became the top goal scorer for three seasons; with Celtic, he has won two Scottish premiership and domestic cup. After that, he moved to Norwich City in England, then moved to Sheffield Wednesday in 2015, then in 2019, he signed for Wellington Pheonix.

 

2. Costa Nhamoinesu

Costa Nhamoinesu is a 34-year-old center-back from Zimbabwe. He started his senior career at Amazulu FC in Zimbabwe. He played in Zimbabwe premier soccer League for one year and moved to Poland in 2007 for a loan deal with WSS Wisla. He also played for the polish side, Zaglebie Lubin. He played 136 matches for Lubin, making him one of the valuable players in the league.

In 2013 he signed for Sparta Praha and played there for seven years. In Sparta's colors, he played for 200 matches in various competitions like the Europa League, Uefa champions league qualifiers, and he wore the captain's band for the club. He was the only player from Africa to lead Sparta. He also scored nine goals for Sparta.

 

1. Vicente Gómez

Vicente Gómez is a 32-year-old Spanish defensive midfielder. He moved to Kerala blasters from the Segunda division side Deportivo. He played in Laliga from 2015 to 2018. He started his senior career AD hurricane in Spain. He then moved to las palmas scored 2 goals in Copa del ray. He was one of the main players behind the club's promotion to the Laliga. He also leads the team in a match against Real Madrid. He spent most of his career in Spain; India is the first country outside Spain, which he will play.

The club has also signed players like Bakary KoneSergio cidonchaFacundo Pereyra, and Jordan Murray to strengthen their team. They have extended contracts of young Indian players like Sahal Abdul Samad, Rahul KP, etc. Before starting the new season, Kerala Blasters are one of the strongest squad in the paper.
