To my younger self

To My Younger Self

Hey, how are you? I know you were not feeling good from past few days. No, don’t stop reading. I’m not going to talk all about positivity and neither about the negative ones. I am writing this letter just to say you that hold in there. I still remember this date, 16th February, the day I and at present you might be still struggling to run your dream business, and struggling with the grief of losing things you loved the most.

You might still be thinking about the taunt you are receiving from the family, the work pressure, and losing the thing you love the most till this time. I will be honest with you. It’s still going to continue and will remain same. No, don’t stop reading just read it once. You will receive the taunts, the loss, and managing things. You have all the right to be sad for many days, but it’s your choice for how long you want to be sad. It depends on you, because it will happen again and again. It won’t stop. I won’t say you that the business is running is running fine (You might think that everything will become proper and you will lose focus), neither I will say that everything is in worst condition (You might lose focus again). I just want to say that just focus on your goal. Eat, sleep, cry, fight, and repeat. Don’t lose hope.

I am 30 years old and you might be 24 years. You know one thing, the things are still the same. The struggle is not going to end even if you achieve everything in life. I want to share you one thing that you might have not known, but you will after reading this letter. You remember that you were struggling to find out the name for the start-up company and how your friend suggested you the name ‘Lancing Birds’. He had suggested you Lancing Buds (Lancing from freelancing and Buds from Buddies). But you heard it differently and thus, the name ‘Lancing Birds’ came into picture. I know, it came as a shock to you, but it’s the truth. It was an accident. It was not him who gave birth to the name. It was made by you but by accident. Yes, you gave birth to the business idea and you only named it. It belongs to you. The way I see it after so many years is that the things which belongs to you will stay permanent, and the things which doesn’t won’t last. This business will be permanent because it belongs to you. Even if it doesn’t, you will fight for it always like you did. You thought of it and you fought for it. All day, all night, but don’t lose focus. Even after you lose after fighting so much, don’t lose hope. Don’t dwell on the things much just concentrate on your work. Everything will fall into place at right time. Look, you have all the right to be sad. You are a human being, it’s a logical thing. But one day, you will wake up to breathe the fresh air of freedom, as you called it. For that, you have to learn to deal with this situation. Be ready, because one day you are going to wake up and breathe the fresh air and say “I am glad that I didn’t quit just to live this day.” From your elder self.
