What is Sound Meditation? Why it's the easiest of all forms of meditation?

I would start by saying, "Meditation is not at all that hard as you might have presumed all your life." The reason I'm telling you this is that you can meditate anywhere, anytime, and under any circumstances. To put it in a single word, MeditationMeditation is nothing but "Awareness." And to be more precise, mediation is the essence of awareness.

What is Awareness?

Awareness is the process of what you are thinking, what you are feeling, and what you are doing. I have many people thinking that MeditationMeditation is something complicated because they are always trying out things such as emptying their mind, giving instructions to the mind like don't think of anything, and concentrate. That is the biggest misconception about MeditationMeditation.

On the other hand, to meditate, you don't have to do anything like blocking the thought, create a particular state of mind, or trying out to be calm and peaceful. Instead, all you got to do is "be." As long as you are aware of something and maintain that awareness, that is MeditationMeditation.

One would argue that when we meditate like that, then many thoughts pop up in our mind, for instance, a to-do list. We see more reviews as we generally come across when we are not meditating. One who has tried MeditationMeditation before at least once and have faced these series of thoughts as soon as they close their eyes to meditate like for example, I need to talk to that person, I have this critical deadline, am I wasting time, how can I know what I am doing is right or wrong, then believe me there is no need for you to worry.

Practise and consistency are the keys

All these thoughts may come, and that is quite normal. When I first started to meditate, I had all of these things coming. Sometimes I was lost and completely forgot to listen to the sound. And then I suddenly remember "oh," then I forgot, this process happened quite a lot of time with me. But that's completely okay. You can try again, listen to the sound, forget, listen to the sound, and forget. That is what sound mediation is.

When you go out, when you go to your workplace, try to listen. You can listen to any sound. Just listen to the sound, anywhere, anytime. The more you will practice this, the sooner you realize that you're capable enough to control your thoughts. Thoughts and desires won't distract you anymore. They will pop up and disappear in the presence of your awareness.

Now that you have understood how to meditate, next is another crucial thing, how to be consistent in doing it. Well, a short answer to this is practice. You don't have to do it for hours-and-hours every day; instead, your focus should lie on how to keep going with it smoothly. The best way is to do it bit-by-bit, such as drops of water falling into a big container even though the water droplet is very tiny but capable enough to fill a whole box.
