Pollution is decreased across the world, the sky is so clean that people can see Mount Everest from far away distances.

The AQI (air quality index) is showing the good quality of air in the cities which were most polluted. When the Lockdown was put in across various countries, the commutation was lesser. The cars, trains, airplanes were no longer used, the industries were also closed. So, the emission of various polluting gases like nitrous oxide stopped, which led to a decrease in air pollution and significantly improve air quality.

Environment

The water bodies also improved and clear water was seen after the Lockdown. The Delhi Jal Board reported that the Yamuna is cleaner than earlier. The biochemical oxygen demand has been increased in water because no toxic waste is released in rivers.

Due to the Lockdown, everyone is at home and some of them started working from home.  People are experiencing something different and maybe enjoying too. This is much more effective also because subsequent to Lockdown if people continue to work from home than the pollution level may not rise again.

Many online meeting apps came into action. Online teaching is promoted, local online stores also promoted. Jio mart has been introduced.

Everyone is at home and having plenty of time to talk with parents, children, wife and learn some new ethics.

Also, some people learn new skills which would help them in their professional life.

2. Negative Impacts

  A. Economy fallout

Every country is in the stage of recession, the GDP figure has been seen in negatives. The future estimate growth rates are also not impressive.

The economy decrease is due to -

  1. The high unemployment rate,
  2. The decrease in government income,
  3. the collapse of industries like tourism.
  4. Reduced consumer activity etc.

The countries must look at their own way to curb the spread of the virus as soon as possible and strengthen their health sector. Until the vaccine is developed, no country is safe. IMF also urged countries to work together and overcome the plague.

B. Poverty and Unemployment

Due to the global recession, people are losing jobs, and poverty would be at a peak. The government is taking the necessary steps to eke out people's living but would not do it for a longer time. Daily wage workers are most affected. The job losses in the secondary and tertiary sectors are much high.
