pollution due to cosmetics

Cosmetic products use increasing widely today. After applying these products when one washed out it creates a foam. The foam which is created is in a little amount which mixes to the water. A layer is created at the top of the water of these foam. The foam which is created is very dangerous to the environment. It not only effecting aquatic bodies such as flora or fauna but the gas evolved such as Ozone which is most dangerous to mankind. Live stocks affected by toxins that end up in soils can suffer in reproductive genetics and developmental changes as well as many types of cancer. Previously the use of cosmetics was not extinct there was a little foam created which was negligible but now it comes in the wide view of pollution like global warming. The objective of this review was instead to provide an overview of some commonly used cosmetic ingredient that has not historically been considered of ecological concern but are now being monitored because of there suspected adverse ecological effects. Many of these products are biologically active and are characterized by persistence and bioaccumulation potential, posing a threat to the ecosystem and human health.

In the last few years, cosmetics, as well as pharmaceuticals and many other products for personal care that do not fall within cosmetic regulation have raised significant concern as one of the most significant classes as emerging pollutants because hey are continually released into the aquatic environment.

Chemical compounds that compose cosmetic formulations number in several thousand and the annual production and consumption of personal care products exceed thousands of tons. The hazard of continuous release of these huge amounts of chemicals into water should not be underestimated. Banning the products responsible for these problems is an impracticable option, except in particular circumstances. Addressing this issue realistically requires different approaches and strategies.
