Indias no 4

Any position in cricket is important.Best of the players bat at number 3 or open the innings. Then who comes next is important as it is the task to complete the game and your best player is not there. This position has been the turning point in most of the games. 

India had always a decent player coming at number 4 like Azharuddin, Yuvi and many more. After that India had struggled a bit to find number 4 proper batsmen. They even tried the best batsmen in the world, may the greatest of all time( a debate.........) for that position, there captian King Kohli. Still the solution was not found. The strategy changed and things did get well for the Indian team. Hence something else had to be tried.

Then came Shreyas Iyer and is playing like that he belongs to this position. Before Shreyas Iyar, India tried many players like Vijay Shankar, Rishabh Pant and few others. Out of which everyones eye was on Rishabh Pant and most of us believed, he is India's future No 4. Although he failed many times, suceeded few times but still he was the only hope.

But destiny had other things in place, Rishabh gets injuired, Rahul keeps the wicket and does quite well. India wins the match.Shreyas playing good at No 4. Suddenly Indian cricket team two problem gets solved. Shreyas is India's no 4 and Rahul is the keeper India needed at least in ODIs and T20.  

This is nothing new in cricket. The matter is how India takes this forward. India is playing like a champion since a long time in Kohli's era, still the ICC trophy is missing. This directly or indirectly is puuting a pressure on Indian cricket team and even its policy. India has to fix this solution for at least for 4-5 years and perhaps India has done it.
