Healthy Red Light.

For a healthy mind and body, rest is essential. Proper sleep for adequate time must be made inevitable in our daily life for active every day. But seeing the conditions of present generations, due to workload, mental pressure, etc. people goes through stress, anxiety, depression which results in hormonal imbalance mainly effecting the sleeping habits causing sleepless night and unhealthy you. The single sleepless night may not affect that much but longer-term, with inadequate sleep contributes to weight gain, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. So just to escape from unhealthy, you just give yourselves a good body repairing sleep. Many ways have suggested for better sleep. In today’s article, we will deal with the significance of red light in our health and especially with the enhancement in the sleeping habit.

According to sleeping habits, some people fall asleep in the dark and get irritated to light while some can fall asleep with views on, mostly dim light. And to my notice, people use different colored dim light like green, blue, yellow, orange, red, etc. But according to the study, research had proved that red light is best for better sleep. The clinical studies also say that Red light induces sleep both day and night without disturbing our body rhythmic cycle.

Now the question arises how does Red light affect our body and induce sleep?

Some people have habits of sleeping in the evening or try taking a short nap but couldn’t get dormant. In this case, Red light is ideal for evening sleep, because red light has a lower color temperature, far lower than regular sunlight, which induces better sleep by increasing the secretion of melatonin. As well as the same goes for night sleep, dim red light is better than all.

What is the color temperature? And how does it regulates the melatonin secretion?

Colour temperature conventionally stated as the unit of absolute temperature, the Kelvin. Light with high degrees Kelvin is high color temperature, which seems as bright as day time sunlight. And blue light has the highest color temperature, which tends to get an alert message to the brain by suppressing the secretion of melatonin, and we can’t get asleep faster. And on the other side, red light has the lowest color temperature, which regulates the production of melatonin more than different color lights. So by being in red light before bed will make us fall asleep faster.

Melatonin – is a hormone that is secreted by the pineal gland, which regulates the sleep-wake cycle of our body. It releases cause natural drowsiness. As a supplement, it often used for the treatment of trouble in sleeping.

Red light not only induces sleep, but it also reduces people’s depressive symptoms compare to blue/white color light. It is also safe for eyes, and it has the potential to protect vision and improve healing of people with eye damage and inflammation by helping eye cells to work efficiently and produced more energy. Among all colored light, red light has the lowest frequency, which makes it suitable for eyes. Because a high rate means high energy, which can cause terrible damage to biological structures, therefore overall Red light is a better option for both day and night use.

Is exposure of red light on our skin has any harmful effect?

This question may strike your mind. And the answer is no; red light has no harmful effects. Instead, it creates biochemical effects in cells, which strengthens the mitochondria, since mitochondria are known as the powerhouse of the cell, it increases the function of cells results in more production of energy, with more energy cell function more efficiently, rejuvenate and repair itself.
