Happiness or success! What is more important?

I wouldn't jump right into answering this question till I weigh both options. Happiness or success?

What does it mean for someone to be happy? Or what does happiness entail? Is there a universal code for pleasure, or is happiness merely subjective? What does it mean for someone to be regarded as a successor as successful? Can you be successful without being happy or vice versa?

According to Aristotle, happiness is the ultimate life goal that every human should strive towards. However, joy as since became a very subjective term, as what makes me happy is not what would make the next person happy. It should also be noted that happiness is not something that is Got from external factors; it is from within. You chose to be satisfied. It is solely dependent on the individual in question (which in this case is me). So based on this happiness to me is a state of mind I can generate from within at any point in time, it is irrespective of the situation on the ground, which means that I can decide to be happy at any point in time.

On the other hand, success cannot also be given a universal definition as it means different things to different people. To some, it entails acquiring material things such as cars, houses, and so on. To some others, it maintains a healthy relationship such as friendships, family, and so on. While to some others, it is reaching the hallmark of their career and to the last set of people, it encompasses everything I have mentioned above; the material things, healthy relationships, and reaching the peak of their careers.

Now, to be happy or prosperous?

I'll say both. I would not just want to be happy without being successful. Bearing in mind that happiness is a state of mind that I can be at any time, even if I'm failing in college. Still, I choose to be happy about that situation because really, glooming over it would not change the bad grades or make the classes any better; it makes me lazy. I should not want to feel good about having a harmful degree. Instead, I should find approaches that make learning more accessible and more fun for me.

On the other hand, I wouldn't just want to be successful without being happy. I would die of frustration if I get the grades, have a healthy relationship, and maybe even acquire the cars and all, but I am not happy with myself. So, success and happiness are great that should not be separated from each other. Although your progress can give you a reason to be happy (a right to choose to be happy), your happiness (wanting to be satisfied regardless of the situation is) may not make you successful. If we think positive, it will always be positive, and if we feel negative, it will always be negative. It just depends on what we believe.
