Football

Football is a pervasive game. It is the cheapest game. It is famous all over the world. This is my favorite game. I enjoy its matches.

The game of football was initially English and Scottish. It is now widespread in England, Europe, Brazil, and the Middle east.

The duration of the game is 90 minutes, with a change of ends and an interval of not more than 15 minutes after 45 minutes. The referee may make allowance for time lost in each half. Once the game is over, the team that scores the most goals (the number of times the ball goes in the target) is declared the winner. In the case of a draw, and depending on the rules of the competition, a result may be reached by extra time (of 30 minutes duration) or a penalty shoot-out.

The game is played between two teams of 11 players each. They play with a leather ball in which there is a rubber bladder tightly pumped with air. The field on which it is played is often a hundred yards long and 60 yards wide. These measurements can vary within the maximum and minimum limits allowed by the rules. The field is divided into two equal halves. At the end of each half area and in the middle, there are two poles with a third horizontal top Pole. These are called goalposts. At the back of these poles, there is a net. The net catches the ball and shows that the ball has gone between the posts.

Before the game, captains of both the teams go to the center of the field. The referee Tosses a Coin in the air to determine which of the two teams will choose the side of the area and which would kick. The winner of the toss is given a choice. The captains of both teams arrange their 11 players in their half fields. The five who do the offense are called forwards. Those three who stand behind them, defend and also feed their forwards, they are called Half-Backs. Behind them are the two full-backs who support the goal and also feed their halves. There is the goalkeeper whose sole duty is to prevent the ball from going into the goal.

The game starts, and forwards of each team try to score a goal on the other side. The referee sees that the game is played moderately. None besides the goalkeeper is allowed to touch the ball with hand. None is allowed to push or kick anyone. No player should be standing beyond the back of the opponents before his team takes the offense. Otherwise, he is treated offside. At any such breach of rule, a free kick is allowed to the other side. If there is such a foul in the goal area, a penalty kick is allowed when only the goalkeeper has to face the kick.

The game is played for an hour with 10 minutes interval. The team that scores more goals wins the match. This game requires stamina. Often the players get hurt by foul play. However, it makes the player smart and healthy. The players unconsciously learn discipline, fair play, and perseverance.
