Wars have cast a prominent image on people's lives especially the ones's who have been through, who have seen it in the actual. In this regard, movies can provide a thorough description of what is war like, how does it affect a general lifestyle and most importantly, how does it affect a soldier's mental health. 1.BROTHERS 

Premiered in 2009, this movie reflects the psychological effects war has on a soldier returning to home. Starring Toby Maguire and Jack Gyllenhall, the movie revolves around the story of two brothers turning on against each other courtesy of one being subject to the horrendous effects of war in Afghanistan. The major element of the movie is the fact that the protagonist (Maguire) is forced to kill his own partner soldier with his bare hands by the enemies. This mental torture is then contemplated in his personal life once he heads back home. Brothers truly ellaborate the repercussions of war on the mental health of a person.

2.SAVING PRIVATE RYAN

Assuming that most of you guys have seen this one, Saving private ryan narrates the sacrifices one has to bear during a war. Played by Matt Damon, a private named ryan, whose family is deceased, is saved by the crew members of the army, so that he can be sent back home properly. Doing so the crew memebers face a hell lot of lives for the saving of one private. This movie is the essence of a person being emotionally dispersed from his family during the course of war. You should give this a watch if you have not already.

3.FURY

Although not critically acclaimed, this movie is still one of the most breathtaking war movie with one of the best cast in the lot. The plot revolves around a teenage boy with no military experience being drawn into war. Having never killed someone, the boy is forced to do so and eventually turns into a war maniac at the end. Based in th world war II, the film potrays the slaughter of soldiers and civilians on both ends of the war. With quality music composers, this one does not disappoint at all

4.HACKSAW RIDGE

Have you ever heard of a soldier indulging in a war without a gun? Yes, you heard it right. Hacksaw ridge is a story of a teenage boy going into war as a medic without a a weapon. Based on true incidents of World War II, this is a biographical movie of Desmond Doss who without the usage of a fiream due to his firm christian beliefs, saved tens of lives as a combart medic. Doss became the first conscentious objecctor to be awarded the medal of honour for service beyond the call of duty. The movie is mesmerised by the perfect accent of Andrew Gardield who plays the lead.

5.THE HURT LOCKER

The hurt locker is a masterpiece in the theater of war movies. Crowned as the best picture at the oscars, The hurt locker entails the lifestyle of bomb diffusers in war of Afghanistan. The ultimate premise of the movie is the very fact the a soldier does not find conscience in having a normal lifestyle after facing the reverberations of a war. This movie reflects such elements of a soldier life where the lead in the film becomes a war junkie when a normal familial life does not excite him anymore. The ending monologue where the soldiers have a sublte conversation about contrasting characters (one wanting to go home, the other wanting to stay forever in the war) among themselves is still a mojor highlight of war movies. You should see this one at least once in your life.
