when we open a news paper in the morning, we get to read this news every day. Today, because of dowry, she harassed the girl, sometimes she left the house or burnt her to death. Dowry has become a curse for India's society. 

                       This practice has been going on in the society for centuries. Constant efforts are also made you prevent this at the social and administrative level. But still this evil practice has not been overcome. Therefore, somewhere behind this evil practice, ego and greed of men are working. 

Initially, the father gives many things related to the household as a gift to his daughter in marriage. There was no compulsion from the groom's side, it gradually changed It shaped and it modern time it has taken the from of a business. 

Before marriage, the people of the groom's side make many demands from the bride's side as dowry. Only after completion of which they are ready for marriage. If for some reason, the bride's father is not able to meet the bridegroom has to face his punishment for life. Somewhere people come to inhumanity to the extent that human civilization gets tranished by seeing this. 

The I'll effects of the dowry system have to be suffered by those girls, who belong to poor families. fulfill the demand of the father and groom seth the money lender takes a loan.

The ancestral property of some people is also sold. It is not that people of higher house's have remained untouched by it. 0n the other hand, young woman are tortured for not getting the desired dowry, so that they can go back and get the desired dowry from their father. 

Sometimes this retaliation takes the from of barbarity. When the newlyweds are burnt to death, they kill her and give it the name of suicide. 

The roots of the dowry system are very deep. It cannot be stopped only by the government or any individual. Only by collective efforts can we destroy this evil.
