Some dogs are very active and this kind of dog is always interested to play with you. Such kind of dogs always like the objects in motion like a frisbee, and if you would throw a stick they might even catch it and bring it back to you again, this kind of dogs will always chase your car for fun as your car is in motion and will try to play with you by showing their happy faces and wagging tails.

The Territory:

Dogs have their own territory, you might have noticed some of the dogs in your neighborhood barking at a new dog that has entered their territory and also when a new person comes at your house, it is because they don't trust them. It is weird but the dogs expand their territory by urinating on the trees and vehicles in their territory in which they live in. So, when a vehicle that does not belong to their territory approaches them, they can smell it. This infuriates them as they don't accept any other dog in their territory. This is weird but that's how it is.

Loneliness:

Dogs are social creatures and are very curious in nature and some times like us they also get lonely and bored. So, to beat this, they urge to chase the vehicles suddenly and end up running behind them. Some times it is also due to their bad experience with a driver. Dogs just pass their time simply by barking at people or chasing vehicles. This kills their boredom and makes them feel happy.

Prey drive:

The cars and bikes are a dog's favorite things as they move, make noise, and emits light, unlike trees and electricity poles. The strong sounds of few vehicles sound like a big growl which makes them chase it as if it is their prey.

Also, rotating tires attract dogs and they try to bite it.

The Confrontation:

If a passing car would have killed or hurt a member of their pack, they might get extremely defensive and whenever they detect the same smell from the car which passes by, they would bark at it for confrontation, or chase it for driving it away for good.

Some Tips to stop them doing this:

1. Always drive your car slowly and smoothly, if you know a specific dog who chases your car in your neighborhood.

2. Some dogs are friendly and if they are irritating you just give them some biscuits and try to become friends with them and slowly escape from your vehicle by keeping them busy in eating.
