Coronavirus: case study

Here is everything you should know about the new Coronavirus.

As of now, around 40 thousand(40,000) people have infected worldwide, and about 910 people are dead due to this Virus.

Is this Virus that dangerous or there is nothing to worry about. Let's see some facts.

First of all,

What is Coronavirus?

Coronavirus first found in Wuhan, a city in China on 31 December 2019. Coronavirus is a family of viruses. A form of Coronavirus also causes the common cold. The type of Coronavirus found in Wuhan is being called 2019-now. The exact source of this is still unknown, but some scientist says that it may have originated from snakes and some say from bats.

Now let's talk about

Symptoms.

The symptoms of this Coronavirus is almost similar to the normal flu, which is fever, cold, sore throat, chills, headache, running nose, and cough. This is the reason why there is a difficulty in detecting this Virus beforehand as people think they only have the common flu. In the extreme case of this Virus, one can get pneumonia. The incubation period of nCoV is 2-11 days.

The most important question.

Is it hazardous?

Out of 40000 confirmed cases, the death count is 910. By ratio, this means only 2% of the infected people are dying due to the Coronavirus. That means the chances of dying are just 2%; that is, there is a 98% chance that people will survive after getting infected. The only people dying due to this are the ones whose immune systems are weak. People with healthy immune systems are showing recovery signs.

There is an interesting fact about viruses that if an infection is more contagious, then it will have a low mortality rate. If it's less contagious, then the mortality rate is high. For example, the Ebola virus has a mortality rate of 70%, but there are only 3000-4000 confirmed cases. On the contrary, common cold or fever spreads very quickly, but its mortality is less than 1%. Hence, Coronavirus is not as dangerous as other viruses.

How does it spreadThe 2019-nCoV spreads as same as fever or the common cold, that is, through sneeze or cough. When an infected person sneezes, the droplets coming out of his mouth carry this Virus, and the person in contact with these droplets may get infected.

Preventive methods. Some of the precautionary methods are washing our hands and utensils properly before eating, covering our mouth and nose while sneezing and coughing. Hence, all the preventive methods are as same as methods for preventing common cold and fever.

Cure? Unfortunately, as of now, there is no vaccine available for curing Coronavirus. All the other medicines spreading across social media are false and misleading as the scientists are still working on finding a cure.

Maintain cleanliness and obtain a healthy lifestyle to stay away from this Virus. Let's pray for the infected ones and those who died, may God have mercy on their souls.
