CAN YOU CHARGE YOUR ELECTRONIC DEVICE WITH BRICKS ?

 INTRODUCTION

The brick from which the walls of the house are made can store energy. From which you can charge your electronic devices such as your Laptop or Smartphone. The researchers had proven that the bricks could store energy, but at a very little amount, 1 brick can store a 1% charge of a lithium-ion battery of the same size.

1.FOUNDER OF THE CHARGEABLE BRICK

Julio D’Arcy at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and his colleagues, through an experiment they found that the iron oxide that gives the red color to the brick, through chemical vaporization that reacts with the iron in the brick to deposit a layer of conductive plastic known as PEDOT that can conduct and store energy in the brick.

BRICK'S CAPACITY

 If 1 brick is used to store charge it will be not able to store energy, but if two bricks are attached then they can store energy. These bricks can be recharged 10,000 times before it decreases its charge storing capacity.

 

2.DRAWBACKS OF THE CHARGEABLE BRICK

The most drawback causes of this chargeable brick are that I can store charge only 1% of the lithium-ion battery. However, the team hopes that they can improve the capacity of the charge storing brick by adding material like iron oxide into the brick.

 People thought that they would use these bricks to build their houses as well as to charge their electric appliances. Since these bricks store energy so they can catch fire easily, so if these bricks are used to build your home and if someday the temperature raises to a high level these bricks will catch fire and your house will be ruined.

3.STATEMENT OF THE TEAM

The full team is working on the drawbacks of the chargeable brick. We should hope that the working team should overcome these problems. After these problems are solved, the product is ready to be launched in the market.

The founder of the brick has told that 1 brick can cost up to $2 to $3. They have claimed that they would try to make it cheaper so that the walls can be made, and can be affordable by every individual.

 Many of them had also suggested that it could be made more decorative so that it could be also used as a decorative item in building houses and buildings. There could be a switchboard in the brick so that a device could be normally plowed in and can be charge easily.

4.THE BIGGEST DRAWBACK

 The third drawback which was found after a long time of its discovery was that it was not too nature friendly. It was against the law of conservation of energy. If it would be a launcher after solving the two problems with it, it may not be approved by the government because of this reason.

TEAM'S CONCLUSION

But the scientist had confirmed that they would try their best to solve this problem, as they respect and care about the law of conservation of energy. They told us that it will be recyclable too. So that it is nature friendly too. After all of these problems are solved then it can be ready to launch in the market.
