In the field of Biology, Metabolism refers to all of the body's chemical processes, the digestion of food, and the elimination of waste.
Every part of the human body is composed of various types of cells, the fundamental unit of life.
The study of the body involves each a) anatomy and b) physiology.
 
Human anatomy is defined as the primarily scientific study of the morphology of the human body.
Human physiology is defined as the science of the mechanical, physical, bio-electrical, and biochemical functions of humans in good health, their organs, and the cells of which they are composed.
