عقیدہ توحید کے بعد اسلام کا دوسرا بنیادی عقیدہ، عقیدہ رسالت ہے۔یعنی اللہ تعالیٰ نے ہر زمانے میں اپنی طرف سے رسول اور نبی بھیجے جو انسانیت کی ہدایت کے لیے اللہ کی طرف سے پیغام لے کر آتے رہے۔ یہ سلسلہ آدم علیہ السلام سے شروع ہوا اور ہمارے نبی محمد ﷺپر ختم ہوا۔ آپ ﷺ نے رسالت کا حق ادا کر دیا، اورامت کو بہترین انداز میں نصیحت کی ۔ تمام انبیاءو رسل اس لیے دنیا میں تشریف لائے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے دین کی بالا دستی قائم ہو اور لوگوں پر حجت نہ رہے کہ انہیں کچھ پتہ نہیں تھا کہ اللہ تبارک و تعالیٰ کی عبادت، اطاعت اور فرماں برداری کیسے کرنی ہے۔ اس لیے اللہ تعالی نے فرمایا:
