  1.  Indira Gandhi International Airport

Indira Gandhi International Airport serves as the major international aviation hub of the Indian capital city of New Delhi as well as India. The airport, spread over an area of 5,106 acres (2,066 ha), is situated in Palam, 15 km (9.3 mi) south-west of the New Delhi Railway Station and 16 km (9.9 mi) from New Delhi city center. Named after former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi, it is the busiest airport in India in terms of passenger traffic since 2009.

It is also the busiest airport in the country in terms of cargo traffic, overtaking Mumbai during late 2015. In the calendar year 2018, it was the 12th busiest airport in World and 6th busiest airport in Asia, by passenger traffic handling nearly 70 million passengers. It is the world's busiest airport for Airbus A320 aircraft. The under-construction expansion program will increase the airport's capacity to handle 100 million passengers by 2030.

The airport was operated by the Indian Air Force before its management was transferred to the Airports Authority of India.

In May 2006, the management of the airport was passed over to Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), a consortium led by the GMR group In September 2008, the airport inaugurated a 4,430 m (14,530 ft) runway. With the commencement of operations at Terminal 3 in 2010, it became India's and South Asia's largest aviation hub. The Terminal 3 building has a capacity to handle 34 million passengers annually and is the World's 8th largest passenger terminals.

2. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport

To cope with the passenger traffic two new terminals namely T5 and T6 (one satellite terminal) is under construction to handle 40 million passengers per year. Once completed, it will be India's first airport to have a satellite terminal. The new satellite terminal will be connected through a four-way underground alkylator for passenger movement across different terminals. Still, the airport will reach saturation by 2022 with a peak capacity of 40 million passengers and a proposal for the new airport in Chennai is underway for decades. Once the new airport is commissioned, both the airports will be functional.

The domestic and the international terminals are named after former chief ministers of Tamil Nadu K. Kamaraj and C. N. Annadurai, respectively. It was the first airport in India to have international and domestic terminals located adjacent to each other. The airport serves as the regional headquarters of the Airports Authority of India for South India comprising the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Kerala and the union territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

Kempegowda International Airport is an international airport serving Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka. Spread over 4,000 acres (1,600 ha), it is located about 40 kilometers (25 mi) north of the city near the village of Devanahalli. It is owned and operated by Bengaluru International Airport Limited (BIAL), a public-private consortium. The airport opened in May 2008 as an alternative to increased congestion at HAL Airport, the original primary commercial airport serving the city. It is named after Kempe Gowda I, the founder of Bangalore. Kempegowda International Airport became Karnataka's first fully solar-powered airport developed by CleanMax Solar.

Kempegowda Airport is the third-busiest airport by passenger traffic in the country, behind the airports in Delhi and Mumbai, and is the 29th busiest airport in Asia. In the fiscal year of 2017–18, in terms of international traffic it is the 5th busiest airport in the country behind Delhi and Mumbai, Chennai, and Cochin. It handled over 25.04 million passengers in the calendar year 2017 with over 600 aircraft movements a day. The cargo handled by the airport continues to increase steadily, with the airport handling about 386,849 tonnes (426,428 short tons) of cargo between April 2018 and March 2019.

The airport consists of a single runway and passenger terminal, which handles both domestic and international operations. A second runway, constructed by Larsen & Toubro is set to be commissioned on 5 December 2019 while a second terminal is in the early stages of construction. Also, there is a cargo village and three cargo terminals. The airport serves as a hub for AirAsia India, Alliance Air, an IndiGo, and a focus city for Air India and SpiceJet.
