10 Ways to Invest in Yourself in Your 20s.

You should be thinking of ways to invest in yourself in your 20s because the earlier you start, the better. Your twenties are a time of discovery and adventure. When you invest in yourself in your 20s you are investing in the rest of your life.

1. Build Up Your Network :

Whatever career industry you have decided to enter, building a network of contacts will benefit you from the start, all the way through your career.

You’ve entered adult life and there is nothing wrong with understanding that you will need all the help you can get. From career advice through to budget management, learn from the people who have gone through it all before.

Budgeting will be essential throughout your twenties. Sure, you want to have fun, but you will also be saving for a house, a car upgrade and you’ll want to put some money away for traveling. Grab a spreadsheet, work out a monthly, weekly, and daily budget, and stick to it. 

4. Invest in a durable, multi-functional wardrobe:

When budgeting, you won’t be able to afford to go on a spending spree. Instead, opt for high-quality materials that will stand the test of time, Yes, sequins may be in right now, but will they be in six months? 

5. Find a cause close to your heart:

Your twenties are exciting and exhilarating. You’ll be learning about yourself and working towards solidifying your career. But don’t forget to find a cause close to your heart and spend some time in charitable giving. You’ll be helping the world and increasing your positive mental health.

6. Don’t be afraid of failure:

We are always taught that failure is bad, but sometimes you can learn a lot more from failure than success. Lean into it and learn from it.

8. Ignore competition and comparison:

Whilst your twenties are amazing, there is also a lot of opportunities for self-doubt to creep in. Try not to compare yourself to others, that is a slippery slope that won’t be good for your mental health.

10. Invest in a mentor, therapist, or life coach:

The ICF performed a survey that showed 35% of respondents from Generation Z already invest in life coaching. This is a fantastic way to set yourself personal and professional goals and layout an achievable pathway to smash them. This is the best way you can invest in yourself in your 20s.
