Hawaii is the 50th state of America, and it joined the US since August 21, 1959. This is one of the most popular facts about Hawaii and in this post. I am going to add the other ten interesting facts about the beautiful state on the following list.

Captain James Cook

Captain James Cook was the first European who landed on the Island of Hawaii in 1778. Before his presence, Polynesian immigrants already inhabited Hawaii Island, a one millennium earlier. Before Britain, A king name Kamehameha the Great held full authority over the Island since 1795. In the last 1800s, a full monarchy system was erased, and a bicameral parliament holds full power over the Island.

Pineapple Farm

Before the end of the 1800s, Hawaiian authorities initiated an economy based on the export of sugar and pineapple production. Thus, the initiation attracted many workers, farmers, and immigrants from Asia.

History

During the Hawaiian monarchy, two queens had ruled the Island. The first queen was Kaahumanu, ruled in 1823, and the second one was Queen Liliuokalani, who ruled in 1891. Queen Liliuokalani was the last ruler of Hawaiian and Hawaii Island. In 1893, British authority banished her autocracy after she tried to get more dominance over native Hawaiian islanders.

Economy

Tourism is an important economy for Hawaii. Besides beaches, Hawaii uses the attraction of their "live" mountains to attract tourists from around the world. Hawaiian has Hawaii Volcanoes national park, mountain Kohala, Mauna Kea, Hualalai, Mauna Loa, and Kilauea. The last three mountains flow hot lava every day, and it magnetizes not only international tourists but also volcanologists.
