According to the ayurvedic herbology, herbs and spices have a multitude of benefits for mind, body, and spirit. It aims to preserve health and wellness by keeping the mind, body and spirit in balance and preventing disease rather than treating it. Some herbs are taken internally, while others externally. These herbs and spices have a wide range of uses from tea to herblized oil to skincare to supplement. There are many benefits by consuming Ayurveda herbs and spices like it help to fight against cancer, boost our mental health, detoxify our body, purify our blood, improve your digestion system. Ayurvedic herbs are able to go deeper into the tissue and cell when taken with healthy fat such as ghee, butter raw whole milk. 

Here are 10 herbs and spices you must use in your daily routine for a healthy lifestyle.

1.Ashwagandha : 

Ashwagandha is a shrub originally grown in India. Ashwagandha is one of the best anti-aging herbs. It increases vitality, balance stress hormones, and increasing energy. This herb is very useful for people who are suffering from to much stress and overworked.

You can have a cup of hot milk mixed with 1 teaspoon of powdered ashwagandha before bedtime.

            

2. Brahmi :

Brahmi is the ultimate tonic for the brain and nervous system. The best thing is the leaves of Brahmi is look like a brain. Brahmi also balances the left and right hemisphere of the brain and open up the pineal gland. Brahmi removes the toxins and blockages from the nervous system. It helps with the depression, enhances intelligence, improves memory and concentration.

Boil Brahmi leaves in water and drink as a tea. Brahmi can be taken as powder or supplement form.you can also make Brahmi ghee. It can also be used as a medicated oil for hair and nutrient will seep into the brain cell via crown chakra.

          

3. Cardamom :

Cardamon is a spice that originated in India. It neutralizes the acidity of coffee and caffeine. It also neutralizes mucus- forming properties of milk. Cardamom can help to remove excess Kapha from the stomach and lungs.

You can cook with whole cardamom pods or use as tea or boil cardamom in warm milk and drink before bed.

           

4. Cumin :

Cumin is also a spice. It comes from the seed of the Cuminum cyminum plant. Cumin enhances the digestive system and metabolism. It helps to remove excess Vata, the dosha associated with air and space. Cumin can be very useful for the new mom as it cleanses the reproductive organs and improves the milk secretion.

5. Manjistha :

Manjistha is a vine with heart-shaped leaves and a bright red root. Manjusha is the best blood purifying herbs in ayurvedic medicine. Its cooling properties work on plasma and blood organs.Manjistha cleans the blood, liver, and kidney. It also regulates the liver and kidney function.

You can take it with warm mil before bed. Manjistha can also be used as an external application for face packs or in case of skin diseases.

            

6. Turmeric :

Turmeric is the bright yellow spice often used in Indian cuisine. Turmeric purifies the blood and channels of the body. It improves the skin complexion, bringing circulation and nutrition to the skin. Turmeric balances all the doshas, but it balances pitta the most because of its blood cleansing and liver cleansing properties.

Boil some turmeric in milk and consumed it in the morning. You can take also before bedtime. If you consume turmeric regular basis, you will notice that your health improves in a multitude of areas.

           

7. Triphala : 

The 'tri' in Triphala indicates the herb blend is made up of three fruits: amla, haritaki, bibhitaki. Triphala has been traditionally used as a digestive remedy. This combination helps balance our fire element- reducing constipation, abdominal pain, and promote oral health.

The Ayurveda suggest taking it at night right before bed in a pill form, from organic brands such as Himalaya.

               

8. Shatavari :

Shatavari is the best ayurvedic root rejuvenate women. It nourishes and cleanses the blood and female reproductive organs.

Shatavari is readily available to consume in pill and powder form or it can be taken in ghee or cooked in milk, which is preferred form.

                

9. Neem :

Neem refers to flowers that come from the neem tree. Neem is one of the most powerful blood purifiers and detoxifiers in ayurvedic herbology. It is used for healing and curing skin disease and damage, especially from the sun. It is also useful for joint and muscle pain. Use neem on the skin in medicated oil.

           

10. Ajwain :

Sometimes called ajwain, this is a commonly used ayurvedic spice. Ajwain is a strong digestive and nerve stimulant also a powerful cleanser. It is also helpful for the functioning of the respiratory system and kidneys.

Ajwain is commonly added to deep-fried food in Indian cooking, to help ease of digestion. Ajwain can be combined with other spices such as turmeric, paprika, cumin, black pepper.
